Forming a Habit

I started off the first week with some weight loss and toning yoga routine such as the 20 minutes Yoga for Beginners video by Yoga with Adriene. I focused on weight loss yoga as I gained some Covid weight and could really use some workout. Forming a habit was hard at first as I would simply forget about it or would procrastinate. Here’s how I felt during the first week:

On the first day with my determination, I did yoga in the morning and afterwards, I felt more light and fresh instantly. On the other days, some poses even made me feel a little dizzy. For instance, the downward dog position is hard and I’m not flexible enough yet. Nonetheless, I did this pose continuously and each time, it got better. The interesting side of yoga is that it really emphasises on our breathing. When I inhaled and exhaled, I could deepen my stretch easily and I feel like I finally had the time to take deep breaths and relax. Although it was hard to stick to the schedule, I definitely felt healthier with more confidence each time I did yoga.
